Miami Florida Fishing Guide:Biscayne Bay Permit And Bonefish Report

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Yesterday was a typical spring day in Miami. Bright sunny skies, winds 10 to 15 mph and the bonefish and permit were all over the shallow water flats of Biscayne Bay.

I fished Yesterday with Brett Greco and we had several shots at permit through out the whole day. We had one fish eat our fly, but we never got tight too the fish and came back with a crushed hook.  We spent several hours taking shots at permit on fly and had plenty of follows, but no takers.

We then went bonefishing the last couple hours of the day and it was good too see that there were plenty of little bonefish too play with.  We ended up releasing three bonefish in the last hour of the day; too complete a great day of fly fishing in Biscayne Bay.

Miami Fishing Charters:Biscayne Bay Fishing Report

Monday, March 15th, 2010

We have had some pretty inconsistent weather in Miami this winter, but the weather is finally warming up and the fishing is getting better everyday.

Flamingo Redfish

Biscayne Bay has had its fare share of good days of bonefishing and others not so good.  The Inconsistent water temperature has had the bonefish staying deep and at times not wanting to eat. I’m expecting the bonefishing to heat up by next week as well as the permit fishing.

Biscayne Bay Trout

The tarpon fishing in Miami’s Government Cut has had tons of tarpon, and on some days we have been able to get out and fish for them. There has also been several black and gag grouper, along with some really nice size mangrove snappers in the mix.

Flamingo has had plenty of redfish, black drum, and trout around and it’s good to see that the snook fishing is getting better and better everyday.

Now is a great time to book a trip especially if you plan on booking some days for tarpon fishing.

I just got my camera back from getting repaired, so now I can get back too taking some pictures for my fishing reports and so you can enjoy.
