The permit fishing this past week in Biscayne Bay has been on fire! The big tides have had the permit in good numbers pushing up on the flats looking for food. There have also been some big bull sharks and lemon sharks on the same flats that we have been permit fishing on.

On almost every good size shark there has been schools of big yellow jacks up to 15 lbs following these sharks and they are lots of fun on light tackle or fly. The yellow jacks have been so big that they sometimes look like permit. Don’t be surprised if you do see a permit or a group of permit following a big bull shark, as they would do on back of sting rays. If shark fishing is your thing there are plenty of big ones out their too wrestle with.

The bone-fishing still remains strong early in the morning and late afternoon. In between we’re permit fishing through out the afternoon.

Flamingo has been red hot with snook and redfish in shallow water. If fun fishing, casting soft plastics or flies is your thing flamingo is a great place to go. It’s hot and the bugs are bad, but the fishing is hot!

I have some day’s open this week before the long weekend. We have good weather and good tides for bonefish and permit. Take advantage of it and let me help you catch a permit or a bonefish that you will never forget.

The bonefishng in Biscayne Bay and Islamorada has been very consistent. Early morning the fish have been very active tailing on the lower stages of the tides and mudding on the higher stages of the tides. We have been averaging bonefish on almost every outing.

The Permit fishing like I’ve mentioned in my previous reports is only getting better and better. We have big tides right now, and it’s one of the best times of the year to catch a permit if you never done so. It’s one of my personal favorite fish to catch.

Flamingo still remains red hot with plenty of redfish and snook to be caught. There are several baby tarpon still around to play with as well.

Now is one of the best times of year to come down to South Florida and fish. Book a trip for the month of September and save $50.00 on a full day trip.

Biscayne Bay Florida Fly Fishing: Bonefish And Permit Fishing Has Been Hot!

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Biscayne Bay has been red hot for bonefish and permit. There have been several schools of bonefish from five to ten pounds on the ocean side flats of the bay. There have been several small groups of fish from 5 to 10 fish in a school and this past week I encountered several schools from 20 to 100 fish. These fish are hungry and eating flies and live shrimp really well.

The permit fishing has been red hot. Most of the permit I’ve been fishing are on the ocean side flats, and having a dozen shots in a day is not uncommon this time of year. August through October is one of my favorite times of year to fish for permit. I have several days available from now through September and I am still offering$50.00 internet specials through the end of September.

Fishing Flamingo Florida: Tarpon, Redfish And Black Drum All Over The Place

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

02 Track 2

Pair of slot flamingo redfish

Fished Flamingo the past few day’s and the fishing was hot Thursday and Friday, but Saturday the winds picked up and blew allot of the water off the flats making sight fishing a little tuff.  There are plenty of small tarpon around the channels out front of flamingo between 5 and 20 pounds. There was a shrimp hatch going on and the tarpon were eating shrimp flies and artificial lures really well. Plenty of redfish and black drum on the flats tailing in thick grass witch made it difficult at time to make them see our plastic baits with their nose way deep in the mud.  Over all it was a good three day’s on the water this week and I’ll be back at it in the next few days.

I want to remind everyone that I am offering a $50.00 discount for the month of August and now is a great time to get out and go for a Flamingo slam or fish Biscayne Bay for some bonefish or permit.
